Hamed Dehqan (°1990, IR) is a visual artist who lives and works in Brussels (BE)
His practice moves across drawing and painting, installation, objects, spatial scenarios, and poetry. In his works, an unknown, enigmatic, and colorful world exists alongside strange characters that often emerge from simple, primordial shapes. These environments and figures become a way for me to explore the fragile, shifting relationship between fiction and reality. Hamed Dehqan is an artist in residence at HISK (2022-2023) doing advanced studies and practice- based research in visual arts. In parallel, he is doing a master’s in fine arts at Brussels’ Luca School of Art. His work has been shown at Antwerp’s Extra City, Brussels’ Société d’Electricité, Berlin’s Haus der Statistik, São Paulo’s Lona Galeria, CalArts Expo, California, and Tehran’s 3-Platform.
